Orthodontics is a type of dentistry that aims to improve the overall appearance and position of crooked misaligned teeth.
Orthodontics commonly use devices, such as a braces or Invisalign, to correct the position of the teeth. Your specific treatment will depend on your individual needs as a patient and the condition of your teeth.
Katie became a certified Invisalign practitioner in 2007 and regularly provides this type of treatment to patients to help them achieve the smile that they’ve been longing for.
Invisalign treatment consists of a series of clear, removable aligners that you change every few weeks for your next set of aligners.
Each aligner is custom made and designed to fit your own unique set of teeth. As you continue to replace each aligner, your teeth will gradually begin to adjust as the weeks go by, until finally they have straightened to their final position as recommended by your dentist.
A virtual 3D treatment plan (ClinCheck© treatment plan) will show the series of movements and changes your teeth will go through over each stage of the treatment. This gives you the opportunity to see upfront what your teeth will look like at the end of your treatment.
An alternative technique that Katie offers uses the Inman Aligner. The Inman Aligner has coil springs that gently oppose each other, to guide the teeth into their new position. These gentle forces are active over a range of movements, which is why the Aligner works so quickly.
Most cases are completed within just 6 to 18 weeks. Your dentist will give you a honest evaluation of what to expect when you begin your treatment. In most cases, the Inman Aligner is usually a much faster alternative than other orthodontic techniques.
